Shipping FAQ

Why do you only ship 2 Day, or via Temperature Controlled Trucks?

Wine is very sensitive to changes in temperature so we try to expose it to as few variations as possible. Our warehouse guys did a test and found that packages can experience extreme cold and extreme heat on a singular journey across the country no matter what time of year it is.  We want to ensure that your wine arrives in the same condition as when we pull it from our cellar. In the summer, we only ship overnight and by temperature controlled trucks.

How does Temperature Controlled Shipping work?

Orders that are received by 3pm on Monday will ship that Friday via refrigerated trucks. The temperature is constant so wine stays fresh and safe. It is taken to temperature controlled warehouses where it is repacked with ice packs and either dispatched for delivery via FedEx or UPS. Shipping times vary and can take a week or two, depending on when the order is placed, but the wine is always in the best travel conditions possible. Please note that orders placed after 3pm on Monday will not ship until the following Friday.

What else do I need to know about shipping timing?

All orders may take one to two days for processing before they are sent out for shipment. Orders received on Thursdays may not be shipped until the following Monday, although if your order is placed by 10am on Thursday, we will always do our very best to get it in the queue for that afternoon's departure.

Are you making money on the shipping?

No! In fact, we get special rates from our carriers and then discount them a little bit further before passing them onto you.
